Four living trackers for an intense year: 102 major earthquakes, 7 Pacific hurricanes including 3 Category 5s, 15 major disasters, and 10 armed conflicts — each mapped, timed, and replayable from January to today.
The newest entries across all four trackers — refreshed with every data update.
All 102 magnitude 6+ quakes, January–September — epicenters, depths, faults, and three watch zones. Press play to replay the year.
Every Pacific major's full track — Genevieve, Lowell and Polo all reached Category 5 — while the Atlantic sits at zero, its longest drought since 1914.
15 non-seismic disasters: Utah's record wildfire season, the Nepal–Tibet glacial floods, Anak Krakatau, the European heatwave and more.
Ten conflicts with latest-update lines and 2026 timelines — Ukraine, Gaza, Sudan, Myanmar, the Sahel, Haiti, Somalia, Yemen and Mexico's cartel war.
The 2026 Extremes Tracker follows the year's most significant natural and human-made extremes on four interactive maps: major earthquakes (every M6+ shock, with depths, faults and watch zones), major hurricanes (full Pacific storm tracks, including three Category 5s), major disasters (wildfires, floods, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions and heatwaves — seismic and tropical-cyclone events live on their own trackers), and major conflicts (ten armed conflicts, each with a dated latest update).
Each tracker shares the same interaction language: numbered pins in chronological order, click any pin (or list row, or timeline bar) for details and sources, and a play-the-year animation that replays the months in sequence. Data is refreshed regularly from public sources including the USGS and the National Hurricane Center.
